RMEC Announces Virtual Hiring Event

Posted by: Rocky Mountain Eye Center in News on May 22, 2020

Rocky Mountain Eye Center is expanding its presence in the Trinidad community, and with that comes opportunities for new jobs. As Rocky Mountain Eye Center increases its level of service to Trinidad, it will be hosting a “virtual hiring event” on June 4, 2020 to help fill six new positions. The virtual hiring event is the first of its kind in Trinidad.

Rocky Mountain Eye Center plans to expand and move two doors down from its current Freedom Road location, making room to accommodate patients of Dr. George Hagen, a longtime eye care staple in the Trinidad community whom RMEC recently acquired. As a result, Rocky Mountain Eye Center will be adding the following new positions:

Interested candidates are invited to visit www.RockyMountainEyeCenter.com/careers and complete an online application, reviewing the job description prior to the event. Those that apply will be contacted to schedule a time slot for a virtual interview on June 4, 2020.

All questions regarding pay, benefits, schedule, travel and training will be discussed during these virtual interviews in order to create transparency for the candidates and set expectations. From there, top candidates will advance to in-person, second-round interviews, observing all appropriate guidelines regarding social distancing and the use of masks.

Once a preferred candidate is identified following the interview process, reference checks will be conducted and then an offer will be made.

Orientations and most trainings, varied in length, will be completed in Pueblo at the RMEC Corporate Office, unless otherwise indicated by the hiring manager. If a new hire is to travel to Pueblo, mileage reimbursement, hotel accommodations, and per diem for meals will be provided by the company.

The addition of these new jobs, as well as the expansion of eye care services for Trinidad, is welcome news as the community navigates the COVID-19 public health emergency and the loss of several key businesses in the community.

“RMEC offers a culture of growth and community; it is our mission to enhance the quality of our patients’ lives by compassionately providing the highest level of care,” RMEC Human Resources Director Tricia Best Hall said. “By opening up this larger Trinidad office, we not only provide more care and services to our patients, but we also welcome new members to the RMEC family, we are excited about this upcoming ‘virtual hiring event.’”

With the expansion of the new Trinidad office, Rocky Mountain Eye Center has 12 locations serving the eye care needs of Southern Colorado and North New Mexico. Its other locations include La Junta, Pueblo West, Canon City, Alamosa, Salida, Raton, N.M. and three locations in Pueblo in addition the Trinidad location.

Rocky Mountain Eye Center’s current, seven board certified ophthalmologists diagnose, treat and help to prevent diseases of the eye. Its ophthalmologists complete annual eye examinations, perform surgical procedures, assist in specific areas of eye care and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses. Rocky Mountain Eye Center is also Southeastern Colorado’s only LASIK surgery center.
