Dr. Basa joined Rocky Mountain Eye Center in October 2017.

Sreeni Basa M.D. sees patients with all types eye diseases and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic eye problems such as diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal vascular diseases such as retinal artery and vein occlusions resulting from systemic circulation problems, other macular diseases and types of retina problems.

Dr. Basa earned his Medical Degree at Bangalore Medical College and completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson followed by a Residency in Ophthalmology and a Fellowship in Medical Retina at the University of Arizona. In addition, Dr. Basa completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Schepens Eye Research Institute – Harvard Medical School in Massachusetts.

Dr. Basa is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and has been active in teaching other physicians. He has been awarded the “Deans List for Excellence in Teaching Award” by the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona as well as being the recipient of the “Gold Star Award” from the Tucson Veterans Affairs Hospital and the Retinal Research Foundation – Joseph M. and Eula C. Lawrence Award. He maintains membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
